Apple iMac
So it appears that the once in danger of going out of business in 1997, has finally climbed all the way back to the top and over former giant Microsoft for the top stop on the income list. This is a really long battle for Apple to get to this point, and probably justifiablity so. If we wind the clock back a few decades, we’ll remember where Bill Gates pretty much stole the mouse and windows GUI from Steve Jobs. He was given these two things from Xerox, who felt neither was worth pursuing (sure would like to know what happened to the gentlemen who made that boneheaded call). So congrats to Apple.
Apple has also revamed it’s iMac line for the first time since October of 2009. They have a 21″ iMac and a 27″ iMac, all of which have the intel quad core processors, their predacesors had dual core processors with an upgrade option to the quad core. These iMacs also have a new port included with them called the Thunderbolt. It boasts data speeds of up to 20 times fasters than USB ports. The thunderbolt port was introduced on Macbooks in February, and is developed by intel.
Of course the price for iMacs is over the one grand mark, as we’ve learned Apple isn’t shy about charging a lot for thier products. The 21″ iMac is starting at $1199 and the 27″ iMac starts at $1699. These newly released iMacs boast higher resolution cameras along with the thunderbolt ports and quad core processors. If you can afford one of these in your budget, The Computer Nerdz gives it’s thumbs up on purchasing one.
